My Little Puppy Archie

Hi there,

Day 4 and I still have a lot of ideas to get through with my blogs, although I decided today that I would tell you a little bit more about my PUPPY Archie! Now Archie is a 14 week old West Highland Terrier, we got him on Saturday 15th of February this year and I have to admit I have never been so excited in all my life :)

My love for dogs started from the very first time I even remember seeing one... I was lucky enough to grow up with a dog, Jess, she was my Grandma's and Uncles Golden Labrador. She was a member of the family a couple of years before I was born but since then I had grown up with her, seeing her everyday at my grandmas house and always waiting until the end of the day at school knowing that sitting on my grans drive would be Jess waiting for me! Now memories like this remind me how wonderful it was to have a fluffy companion and I always wanted my own dog to live with me at home. I was never able to tempt my parents to get me one through, GRRR. Ever since Jess was put down because of her old age, I missed her every single day, although this year I was able to have my own little lovely. The parents reason for not having our own dog was because they smell and get hair everywhere... I honestly don't know why they changed their minds but they have and now I am lucky enough to have little Archie even though he is an absolute TERROR at times.

Archies first photo at 4 weeks old

Those photo's range from about 4 weeks to 12 weeks, I still have hundreds more on my camera and phone but too many to show! At first training him was terrible, he wouldn't listen to his name, but now he is brilliant, 90% of the time he comes to his name, he is learning to sit, stay and fetch (all the typical doggy things) and his toilet training has always been good.

One of the conditions of getting Archie was that I walked him most of the time and I have to say, even though I hate exercise, I LOVE walking him. I enjoy the morning walks and evening walks, sometimes it is just me and him plodding around the village so its rather peaceful. He appears to love grass, by this I mean he will dash around long grass and dive straight into it, a nose dive to be exact, then he lies there for a bit sniffing and carries on running around. Taking him out for 3 walks a day means that I am getting fitter, my aim this year is to lose a lot of weight so I am more confident and having Archie is definitely helping my reach my target!

Having a dog is so amazing, I love him to bits, even though he has chewed my favorite slippers and socks. Having him was definitely worth the years of begging and waiting because now every morning I can walk downstairs and know that the first person (animal) to greet me will be Archie.. he has his tail wagging every morning waiting for a fuss and a cuddle. Anyone out there who cannot decide if a puppy is a good idea, GO FOR IT!

Thank you for reading and I hope you liked knowing a bit more about Archie and myself, keep posted!
